Student Retention Rate (2024-2025)
Retention rate is defined as the percentage of first-year students who continue their studies at the institution for the following academic year. At the String Theory School of Design, our 2024–2025 retention rate is 91.89% (34 of 37 students retained), reflecting the strong support and advising structure provided to our students. This figure exceeds the federal benchmark of 75%, demonstrating our commitment to student persistence and success. The School will update retention data annually and implement targeted interventions to ensure students receive the academic, social, and professional support necessary to thrive.
Graduation Rate (2024-2025)
Graduation rate refers to the percentage of students who complete their degree program within 150% of the normal time frame (e.g., three years for an associate degree). As the String Theory School of Design launched its first cohort in 2024–2025, no graduation data are yet available. The School is committed to achieving a graduation rate of at least 60% for the first graduating cohort, supported by robust academic advising, developmental courses, and career preparation. Data will be collected, published, and updated annually as cohorts complete their programs.
Transfer Rate (2024-2025)
Transfer rate is defined as the percentage of students who continue their education by enrolling in another institution after leaving the String Theory School of Design. Because 2024–2025 was the School’s inaugural year, transfer data are not yet available. However, our IDeATE curriculum is designed with articulation pathways to four-year programs, and the School has set a goal of securing at least three formal articulation agreements within the first two years following candidate status. In addition, our institutional goal is for at least 70% of graduates to successfully transfer to aligned four-year programs, ensuring strong opportunities for continued academic success. Transfer outcomes will be monitored and reported annually as students progress.
Job Placement Rate (2024-2025)
Job placement rate measures the percentage of graduates who secure employment in their field of study, become self-employed/entrepreneurs, or continue to advanced study within six months of graduation. Since the School’s first cohort has not yet reached graduation, job placement data are not currently available. The School has established a benchmark of at least 70% job placement or transfer to four-year programs, supported by career services, professional identity courses, and strong partnerships with Philadelphia’s innovation economy. Job placement results will be tracked and reported annually as graduates enter the workforce.
