Financial Aid Information

String Theory School of Design is currently planning for a thoughtful financial aid process and program that considers the changing aid landscape and integrates grants, scholarships, and loans through public and private sources for when and if enrolled students do incur out of pocket expenses and file for federal and state aid to access their education. Candidacy is required to initiate the process for public Title IV federal and public Pennsylvania state loans and grants. Students paying tuition and fees is a necessary first step to initiating private and grant funded scholarship programs and services.

Net Price Calculator

At present, the String Theory School of Design offers a tuition-free program – our published costs (Full‑Time Tuition per Year: $8,109; Tuition per Quarter Credit Hour: $159; Technology Fee: $500; Registration Fee: $109) are currently waived for all students. Even so, federal requirements apply to Title IV schools, and institutions that participate in federal aid programs must provide a “net price calculator” on their website to help prospective students estimate their total cost of attendance after accounting for grants and scholarships nces.ed.gov. The calculator is intended to offer transparent, personalized cost projections for planning purposes.

To ensure compliance and transparency, we provide a link to the U.S. Department of Education’s Net Price Calculator (NPC). Prospective students can use the NPC to estimate future costs should our program move away from the current tuition‑free model. The calculator requests basic information (such as household income and family size) to estimate grants and scholarships and then calculates an approximate “net price.” Because our tuition is presently zero, the NPC will display no net cost, but the tool will be updated if tuition or fees change.
